Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. In green pastures, He gives me repose. Besides restful waters He leads me. He refreshes my soul. He guides me in right paths for His namesake. Though I walk through the dark valley, I will fear no evil, for you are at my side with your rod and your staff that give me comfort. You spread the table before me in sight of my foes. You annoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Only goodness and kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come. amen. Prayer Intention For April For the closing of the School of the Americas.
Saint Catherine of Siena Doctor of the Church April 29 St. Catherine was born in 1347. At an early age, she wanted to become a nun, but her parents were against it. They later consented and in 1365, became a nun of the Third Order of Dominicans. Her life was marked with miracles. She did all she could to avert the great schism of which, she saw the beginnings. Because of her great theological works, the most well known being her "Dialogues", she was declared a doctor of the Church by Pope PaulVI in 1970. Catherine died at the age of 33 in 1380. Let us pray: Heavenly Father, grant that by the intercession and merits of your servant, Saint Catherine, that we might also bear witness to your Son Jesus, by living a life full of zeal and steadfastness to the Church and the Gospels. Grant this through Jesus Christ, your Son. Amen
