- A Formation Program for would-be prophets
- A strategy for parishes interested in expanding their Parish Social Ministry
- A Project of Catholic Charities USA
- An extended Justice education/formation program that provides an opportunity for
parishioners to:
- a. Study and be formed by the Justice Tradition articulated by:
- 1.The Scriptures
- 2.The Church's historical witness
- 3.Catholic Social Teaching
- JustFaith is a conversion-based process that seeks to integrate personal spirituality and social
ministry.
- The aim of JustFaith is to:
- a. Empower participants to develop a passion and thirst for justice
- b. Express this passion in concrete acts of Parish Social Ministry
- JustFaith is a tool that has been an effective strategy for parishioners to become agents for
Social Transformation through:
- Six to nine months (nine is recommended)
- Weekly meetings
- Employs:
- a. Books
- b. Videos
- c. Discussion
- d. Prayer
- e. Retreats
- f. Hands-on training
- It is a tapestry of learning opportunities that emphasize and enliven the justice tradition of the
church
- It is a substantive and demanding course of study
- It builds community with the other participants
- A sharing experience that speaks to a Faith Journey of compassion that is life-giving and
challenging
- Engaging in the Church's social mission is one of the most challenging messages of our
Gospel tradition
- a. The JustFaith process recognizes the complexity of the call to compassion
- b. It provides a wide-range of compelling resources to communicate this tradition
- The difficult call to bring justice to a broken world deserves a preparation that honors that
complexity
- The program is adaptable to parish interests and staffing
- The Syllabus allows for changes in:
- a. Study topics
- b. Program duration
- c. Accommodate differences in parish staffing: availability: facilitation skills
- Begin with an introductory workshop to:
- a. Describe the program
- b. Recruit participants
- c. Train potential facilitators
- All day from 9:00-4:00
- Time is flexible
- Weekdays and weekends available
- The Workshop covers:
- a. Theological tradition on which the program is based
- b. Stories of JustFaith impact
- c. Logistics on how to get started and run the program
- Cost $500 for a single parish or $350 per parish if two or more - plus travel expenses
- Printed materials to outline the curriculum and facilitation options
- Materials are now available, and continue to be developed and updated
- Internet access for:
- a. Curricula
- b. Networking with other parishes
- c. Locating alternative resources
- Full-time phone assistance to answer questions and assist with issues that arise while
preparing for or offering the program.

Ministry section. This provides:
