Come Holy Ghost (to be said in the morning) Lord Jesus Christ you have given us your Spirit. Direct by your Spirit all our thoughts, words, and deeds this day, that we may see you in every person we meet, and bring your love, joy and peace into the world. You reign forever and ever. amen. Come Holy Ghost, Come! Prayer Intentions For June -For an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on humanity to recognize the rights and dignity of every human being. -For our government officials to exercise the "preferrential option for the poor" in creating legislature and in making monetary budget decisions. -For an end to war in the Middle East and in all troubled parts of the world so that children can grow up and live in peace and security. -For Unity amongst Christians that the Church may be a credible witness of God's Love to the world.
Saint Paul Apostle June 29 St. Paul was the same Saul who was present and who held the cloaks of those who were stoning Stephen as found in the Acts of the Apostles. He was later converted by a vision from Christ on the road to Damscus. Following his conversion, he made many missionary forays into the Gentile world and founded communities of believers wherever he went. He is known as the Apostle of the Gentiles. Some of his "Letters" (epistles) predate those of the Gospels. It is commonly believed that he was martyred along with St. Peter in Rome in 67 AD. We celebrate his feast day along with that of St. Peter on June 29th Let us pray: Heavenly Father, grant that by the intercession and merits of your servant, Saint Paul that we too may take up our mission of spreading the Good News to everyone we meet, that we might bring others to Christ. Amen
