My Life In Prayer |
A Short Meditation for Every Day
The past—where is it?—It has fled.
Our friends departed?—With the dead.
Ourselves?—Fast hastening to the tomb.
Where are earth's joys?—The dews of mourn.
It's pleasures?—Oceans writhing foam.
Where's peace?—In trials meekly borne.
Where's joy?—In Heaven, the Christian's home.
